If the document for which you need the Apostille happens to a copy of something that needs to be notarized, I may be able to drive to your workplace in the lower mainland. An example of this would be notarizing a copy of a passport. As notaries are only permitted to notarize while physically in their own countries, I would be accepting your papers, notarizing them in my office in Bellingham, and then sending them on to the Apostille agency. It is sad that this regulation must be put in place. But like the Amber Alert system, it is very helpful in safeguarding our children. If a child is not traveling with both parents, a notarized letter of permission is required.
